About Somersby Equestrian Club
Somersby Equestrian Club was formed in 2002 when a few dedicated horse enthusiasts came together to form an equestrian club to increase the competitions, support and training available on the Central Coast of NSW.
SEC has had record memberships of over 140 riders of all ages and experience who support the clubs philosophy of offering riders a friendly environment in which to start their competition careers or to enjoy riding their horses.
SEC also offers clinics, training days and jumping days for the local community as well as offering opportunities for young/junior riders and horses to compete at our dressage days.
SEC has also been involved in sponsoring local riders to assist them with their competition careers. Previous sponsored riders have included: Rachel Gibson, Melissa Payne, Bonnie Denness, Jordi Lambert, Amy Sauter, Petria Briggs and more recently Brianna Cartwright and David Shoobridge. If anyone is interested in sponsorship, please feel free to contact us for discussion.
SEC has previously held clinics with Miguel Tavora, Brett Parbery, Ricky Macmillan, Peter Shaw and Megan Joerg just to name a few. Members are encouraged to contact us to offer their assistance on competition days or suggestions for other events.
The club has recognised a few select members who have donated many hours to the continued success of the club. As at 2015, we have six life members - Valda Darin, Julie Johnson, Marg Abbott, Caron Wakelin, Shauna Murphy and Lita Hernandez.
We thank these wonderful people for their grand efforts and the passion they have shown for SEC.
